El Yapımı Tasmalar :)

Önemli Not: Sadece süs amaçlıdır.

İçeri alalım sizi :)

Important Safety Notice

These collars are for DECORATION ONLY. I wear mine by itself when I'm at home. When I go out in public, I wear one over my regular collar and leash. Mommy told me to remind you NOT to hook a leash or an ID on the collar you make from this pattern because the collar is likely to come loose from the strain of these things. It's just meant to make your pet look cute!

As with anything you give your furry friend, remember to only let your pet wear this when you are around to supervise them!
*********

My Mommy is kind enough to write up her patterns for you, so please remember they are for PERSONAL USE ONLY. You are more than welcome to make as many as you'd like for your own pet, for family and friends, or for charity. Please do not sell the finished products or the pattern itself in any venue. Thank you!

Bow Tie

You'll need:
-A few scrap balls of worsted weight yarn (Mommy uses acrylic, but cotton is fine)
-Size I and Size H hooks
-scissors
-yarn darner
-sew on snaps or sew on hook and loop tape (find in the sewing notions at the craft store)
-needle and thread
-button or ribbon rose (optional)

Gauge doesn't matter for this project.

1. Using the size H hook, chain 10.

I am a tiny 4 pound chihuahua, so to keep the bow tie in proportion to me, it's only 3 inches long. This will be fine for small dogs like me. If your dog needs a bigger bow, just make the chain longer.

3. Make a Half Double Crochet (hdc) in the 3rd chain from the hook and repeat to the end of the chain.

4. Turn the project over and chain 1. This is the first half double crochet in the row. Half double crochet in the second stitch and all the way to the end of the row.

5. Repeat step 4 until you have a rectangle. Mommy made 5 rows for my bow tie.

6. This step is the edging, so make sure you are working on the RIGHT SIDE of your bow tie. Here is how you determine this:

If you end with an ODD number of rows, do not turn. Just chain 1 and begin the next row.

If you end with an EVEN number of rows, chain 1 and turn before beginning the next row.

In the first stitch, single crochet 3 times. Make 1 single crochet to the end of the row. In the last stitch of the row, make 3 single crochets. Repeat this around all for sides. When you get to the beginning, join to the first single crochet. Tie off, but leave a long piece of yarn for sewing.

7. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise to find the center. Then using the long yarn weave this end over to the center.

8. Pinch the center together and sew with the yarn. Weave all yarn ends. You will notice a bow tie shape now.

9. Make a chain just long enough to go around the bow tie. Make sure you leave a lone end at the beginning of the chain because you will need 2 long ends for sewing.

10. Single crochet in 2nd chain from the hook and in each remaining stitch.

11. Chain 1 and single crochet in the next row. Finish off end. Yarn may be cut, but leave a long piece for sewing.

12. Wrap this band around the bow tie and join the ends together. If you do not feel comfortable doing this, just finish off the ends and sew the band together. Do not weave ends.

Basic Collar

1. Using the Size I hook, make a chain the length of your dog's collar.

2. Half Double Crochet in 3rd chain from hook and Half Double Crochet in each chain.

For small dogs like me, skip to step 4.

For larger dogs, they will need a wider collar, so proceed with the pattern as followed.

3. Turn the collar over, Chain 2. This is the first stitch of all remaining rows. Half Double Crochet in all remaining stitches in this row. Repeat until the collar is the width you need.

4. Cut yarn, tie off, and weave all ends.

To Assemble

1. Using the long piece of yarn left over from the bow tie center, sew bow tie on one end of the collar. Weave all ends and cut yarn.

2. With a needle and thread, sew snaps or hook and loop tape on each side of the collar. Remember you are overlapping the collar, so one part of the snap needs to be hidden under the bow tie, and the other part needs to be on the right side of the collar on the other end.

3. The bow tie center may be embellished with a ribbon flower or button if desired. Sew embellishment on securely.

The collar is now ready for your doggie to wear. Tell them to be prepared for lots of compliments!

This modeling stuff is a lot of hard work. It takes a lot of effort to be cute and witty all the time, you know? I need a nap! See you later!

Thank you!

I didn't want to leave my boy doggie friends out, so I asked Mommy to also come up with a collar for boy dogs. I'll be sharing that one soon!

Basic Collar

You'll need:
-A few scrap balls of worsted weight yarn (Mommy uses acrylic, but cotton is fine)
-Size I and Size H hooks
-scissors
-yarn darner
-sew on snaps or sew on hook and loop tape (find in the sewing notions at the craft store)
-needle and thread
-Button and beads (optional)

Flower Embellishment

1. Using the Size I hook and the main flower color, chain 5.

2. Join to form a circle , then  Chain 1.

3. Single Crochet in the circle then chain 1.

4. Double Crochet in the circle.

5. Triple Crochet in the circle.

6. Double Crochet in the circle again.

7. Chain one and Single Crochet.

8. You have now formed the first petal. Repeat Steps 3-7 until you have 5 petals formed.

If you like abbreviated patterns, this is (sc, ch 1, dc, trc, dc, ch 1, sc)

9. Once you have all 5 petals, join to the first Single Crochet and tie off. Weave all ends.

Flower Center

This part of the pattern is a bit more complicated, so if you are a beginner crocheter, you'll find it easier to use a shank button for the flower center.

However, if you'd like to attempt a crocheted center, Mommy tried to describe it as best she could.

1. Keep a long tail at the beginning and end of this piece because you will need them both for sewing.

2. Chain 3. In the farthest chain from the hook, start making a Double Crochet. However, when you have 2 loops left on the hook, stop. You are NOT completing any of the stitches before beginning the next one.

3. Start making another Double Crochet. Stop at the point when you see 3 loops on the hook.

4. Make one more Double Crochet and stop when you count 4 loops on the hook.

5. Yarn over and draw this through ALL 4 LOOPS on the hook. You will just have the one loop on your hook from pulling through at this point.

6. Finish off this last stitch just like you would any other stitch. Cut yarn and remember to leave a long end.

To Assemble

1. Using one long tail from the flower center, sew the center onto the flower.

2. Use the other long tail to sew the flower onto the collar end.

3. Weave in all yarn ends.

4. Thread a needle and sew snaps or hook and loop tape onto collar ends. Remember you are overlapping the collar, so one part of the snap needs to be behind the flower and the other part needs to be on the right side of the collar on the other end.

5. If you'd like, sew beads on the collar for an extra special touch.

Remember to tell your dog how pretty she is in her new collar! Every doggie loves all the extra attention she can get!

By the way, if you like other crafts, come back tomorrow (Monday) because Mommy is launching another craft giveaway!
