This is a good “first-timers” pattern since there is so little to it. Things you will need to know are:

• How to Single Crochet (you can learn here)
• What a magic ring is
• How to decrease

These are the materials you will need

• Dark Brown Yarn
• Light Brown Yarn
• Black Yarn
• Gold Yarn
• wide eyed Sewing needle
• Sewing thread (I use embroidery thread that coordinates with the yarn)
• Scissors
• Black felt (for eye brow, print out pattern is posted under “Eyes”)
• Orange embroidery thread

Abbreviations used in this pattern are-

• SC- Single Crochet
• ST- Stitch
• STS- Stitches
• DEC- Decrease
• F/O- Fasten off

(With black yarn)

(switch to gold)

(With Dark Brown yarn)

Round 1) 6 sc into magic ring (6)

Round 2) 2 sc in ea st, around (12)

Round 3) sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, around (18)

Round 4) sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, around (24)

Round 5) sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, around (30)

Round 6) sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st, around (36)

Rounds 7-12) sc around (36)

(Switch to Light brown yarn)

Rounds 13-18) sc around (36)

(Sew on eyes and embroider on beak)

Round 19) sc in nect 5 sts, 2 sc in next st, around (42)

Round 20) sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next st, around (48)

Rounds 21-24) sc around (48)

Round 25) sc in next 6 sts, dec over next 2 sts, around (42)

Round 26) sc in next 5 sts, dec over next two sts, around (36)

Round 27) sc in next 4 sts, dec over next two sts, around (30)

Round 28) In Back Loops only, sc around (30)

(stuff and shape your owl firmly)

Round 29) sc in next 3 sts, dec over next 2 sts (24)

Round 30) sc in next 2 sts, dec over next 2 sts (18)

Round 31) sc in next st, dec over next 2 sts (12)

Round 32) dec 6 times

Wings-

(With Black)

The last thing you’ll need to do is sew on the wings, and attach the eye brow.
